Terms of Service

1. About this service

Melbourne Housekeepers ("we", "us", "our") operates a managed housekeeping matching service that connects clients ("you") with independent cleaning contractors in the Melbourne metropolitan area.

We are not an employer of contractors and are not a party to the service agreement between you and any contractor. Our role is to introduce appropriately screened contractors based on your stated requirements.

2. The matching service

When you submit a quote request, a member of our team reviews your requirements and selects a single contractor from our network for introduction. We make reasonable efforts to ensure all contractors meet our minimum screening standards, including a current VIC Police Check, $20M public liability insurance, and verified professional references.

We cannot guarantee the specific outcome of any cleaning engagement, nor that a suitable match will be available in every case or within any specified timeframe.

3. Contractor relationships

Contractors introduced through our service are independent professionals. The contractual relationship for any cleaning service — including scope, pricing, scheduling, and completion standards — is formed directly between you and the contractor.

Melbourne Housekeepers is not responsible for the quality, timeliness, or outcome of services performed by contractors.

4. No lock-in obligation

There is no obligation to proceed following an introduction. If you wish to proceed, any engagement terms (including frequency, scope, and cancellation terms) are agreed directly with the contractor.

You are free to discontinue services with any contractor at any time, subject to any direct agreement you have made with that contractor.

5. Quotes and pricing

Any pricing information published on our website reflects typical market rates for Melbourne and is indicative only. It does not constitute a binding quote.

Tailored quotes are provided directly by your matched contractor following review of your specific requirements.

6. Insurance and liability

We require all contractors to hold current $20M public liability insurance. In the event of property damage or loss during a cleaning engagement, claims should be directed to the contractor's insurer.

Our liability is limited strictly to the matching referral service. We are not liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from a contractor's performance of, or failure to perform, cleaning services.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

7. Re-matching

If an introduction does not result in a satisfactory match for any reason, contact us and we will endeavour to make an alternative introduction at no additional cost. Re-matching is offered in good faith but is not guaranteed.

8. Acceptable use

You agree to use this website and our matching service for lawful purposes only. You must not:

• Submit fraudulent, misleading, or spam enquiries
• Attempt to scrape, harvest, or systematically copy our content
• Interfere with the operation or security of our website or systems
• Use our service to engage contractors for purposes other than cleaning or housekeeping services

9. Intellectual property

All content on this website — including text, design, images, and code — is owned by or licensed to Melbourne Housekeepers. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or repurpose any content without prior written permission.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Updated terms will be published on this page with a revised date. Continued use of our service following publication of updated terms constitutes your acceptance of those terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or our service are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
